Hi, thanks for stopping by.
This site is designed exclusively for women who want to start, build, and grow their businesses.
My experience in business comes from the real world, which is the best experience anyone can get. You can pay for coaching services, consultants, online programs, and mastermind groups, but at the end of the day, it’s hands on experience that is going to give you a deep understanding of your business and industry. That being said, I whole-heartedly believe in the power of ongoing training, education, and professional development.
When you combine training and experience, you’ve got yourself a powerful recipe for success.
I launched an e-commerce site in the late 90s and later sold it for a profit. That’s when I first realized how powerful the Internet is in building a business and getting noticed by prospective buyers who wanted to buy my business.
Over the years, I’ve been a top producing real estate agent and have won numerous awards in sales and customer service in the hospitality, restaurant, airline, and office product industries.
My vast experience in working in diverse industries on various projects with many different teams has led me to co-found ProPlanr.com, a planning and collaboration task management software system. Yes, I do believe in the old saying, “Failing to plan is planning to fail.”
I found my love and passion for training and teaching others as an award winning Dale Carnegie Sales Trainer when I started my professional career as a sales account executive in San Francisco.
I also have a B.S. in the College of Communications from the University of Texas at Austin.
Here’s more if you want to dig a bit deeper…
Together, with my business partner, I own a business management consulting firm, Hware (HumanityWare). We work with established companies and organizations who need technological and business solutions.
On a more personal note, in 2000 we purchased 28 acres in rural northern California where we built an eco-conscious home that became a model for sustainable home building techniques. We sold our home in 2012.
The experience of building and living in a straw bale home for over a decade influenced my life in a profound and positive way – it left a huge imprint on the work that I do today with women in business.
During that time, I fundraised and crowdfunded over 450K for various environmental and social causes – mostly for kids in the foster care system in need of permanent family homes.
My life and interests are a blend of business, technology, mindfulness, and social good.
How I Work with You One-on-One as Your Coach
I shine a light on what’s working and what’s not as we hone in on your pain points and strategize on solutions and outcomes.
I ask a lot of questions. I dig deep. Together we uncover your strengths and gifts. By unveiling your super powers, you are able to work from a place of flow and ease rather than swimming upstream.
Together we develop clarity and set the goals you’ll need to create the business and life that you want.
You’ll be surprised at how fun and light-hearted the process of activating your creative side (right-brain) and analytical side (left-brain) can be. You need both in business. I help you integrate the two in a way that feels good and makes sense to you.
Most important, I help you awaken to your own vision for your work and life.
Once we are clear on your vision, we begin working on your PLAN. We design an authentic approach to success with a strategy and plan that is simple and action-oriented.
Through this process you become more conscious. You become clear about what actions you need to take to achieve your vision. It’s from this place that you become a powerful creator of your work and life.
In essence, I help you step into your intuitive and productive self as you take consistent action on getting the results you want.
Throughout the process, we track your results. Why? Because you cannot improve what you cannot measure. We define the metrics that will measure your success and use it as a gauge for tracking your progress.
Lastly, we set you up for success with a mindset of adaptability. I have found that being flexible in life is one of the most powerful ways to minimize internal chaos and strife. When we stop pushing and going against the flow by becoming adaptable, we drop into a fluid way of being that optimizes our experience.

I was referred to Brenda by a successful local small business woman who was being coached by her. I needed help getting my message out when I was crowdfunding for The Urban Homesteader.
Before meeting Brenda, I was off track and not hitting my target goals. A couple of sessions with Brenda and BAM!
She helped me re-prioritize on the critical path of items that made a huge difference in my campaign. She even introduced me to a PR professional who helped us get national press coverage.
Brenda knows how to look inside your business and focus on the things that matter.
The first time I heard Brenda Horton speak, I knew I was in the presence of a very knowledgeable and dynamic leader. She was facilitating a workshop on Internet marketing and she left an indelible impression on me.
Fast-forward to today. My vision is clear, my direction is focused and I am enjoying my business like never before. I am on a trajectory for continued growth with full confidence!
I soon took full advantage of the opportunity to hire her as my business coach. Working one-on-one with Brenda has helped me get to the heart of my business matters. She showed me how to narrow down my focus so that I could identify my ideal client, which by the way, she even referred an ideal client to me.
I have been able to implement new programs and systems that have empowered me to be more consistent and efficient. I am no longer all over the map. Thank you Brenda, for helping me “unclog” my path to success!
